Bajaur: The Fakhr-e-Bajaur Cricket Tournament, being played at Haji Long Cricket Ground, concluded with a thrilling and entertaining final match that captivated cricket fans. The final was contested between Utman Khel Zalmi and Shining Star Salarzai, with Utman Khel Zalmi delivering an impressive performance to lift the trophy.
A total of 18 teams participated in the tournament, reflecting the growing popularity of cricket in the region and the enthusiasm of local youth. The seven-over final saw Utman Khel Zalmi bat first, posting a formidable total of 95 runs within the allotted overs. Ashfaq played a brilliant and aggressive innings, scoring a rapid 54 runs that turned the tide of the match and earned loud applause from the spectators.
In response, Shining Star Salarzai put up a strong fight but were restricted to 79 runs in their allotted overs. As a result, Utman Khel Zalmi secured victory in a nail-biting encounter. The crowd present at the ground maintained a lively atmosphere, cheering passionately for the players throughout the match.
The closing ceremony was attended by chief guest Syed Imad Darwish. Other distinguished guests included retired Headmaster Aziz ur Rahman, Mian Siraj, senior journalist Anwarzada Gulyar, and Ikram Khan. The chief guest distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winning team and outstanding performers.
Speakers on the occasion emphasized that organizing such sporting events helps engage youth in positive activities and promotes healthy recreation in the area. The organizers were also appreciated for successfully arranging the tournament.
