Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited the renowned religious seminary Jamia Ashrafia located on Eidgah Road, Peshawar, yesterday. Upon his arrival, Chief Khateeb of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi and faculty members of Jamia Ashrafia warmly welcomed him.

During the visit, the Governor inaugurated the “Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Qureshi (late) Hall” established for the teaching of Hadith sciences at the seminary. On this occasion, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi thanked the Governor for his visit.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that religious seminaries and scholars have a highly significant role in maintaining inter-sect and interfaith harmony in the country. He urged scholars to promote messages of love, tolerance, and brotherhood through the pulpit and to educate the public about the rights and responsibilities of the state.

He further stated that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and security forces in the fight against terrorism are unparalleled, and the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with them.

The Governor also congratulated Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi on being nominated for the Presidential Award “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” and appreciated his and his family’s century-long religious and national services to the country.
