Calls for united action against terrorism, vows support for martyrs’ families

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited Dera Ismail Khan and said more than 1,300 kilograms of explosives were used in the terrorist attack on the Manjhi Khel check post, reflecting the scale of the militants’ planning.
Speaking to the media at the Regional Police Office, he said a Pakistan Army soldier, a police official, and a Forest Department employee embraced martyrdom in the attack, paying tribute to their sacrifices.
The Governor said Pakistan’s Armed Forces and security agencies, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, were effectively combating terrorism. He reiterated full support for the armed forces, police, and other security institutions, adding that such attacks could not weaken the nation’s resolve.
Faisal Karim Kundi visited the injured personnel at CMH Dera Ismail Khan, met the families of the martyrs, and distributed financial assistance among the heirs and injured officials. He assured that recommendations for improved compensation packages would be taken up with the federal and provincial governments.
He stressed the need for intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and called for close coordination between the federal and provincial governments to eliminate terrorism.
Earlier, the Governor was presented a guard of honour at the Regional Police Office and received a security briefing on the Manjhi Khel attack from senior police officials.
