CHARSADDA: Blood donation is a noble cause and a great humanitarian service that helps save the lives of suffering humanity, said Mr. Hamdullah Jan, Director ICMS College Charsadda, while addressing a one-day blood donation camp organized at the college.
A total of 81 healthy volunteer students of ICMS College Charsadda donated their precious blood during the camp, which was arranged by Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Center and Blood Transfusion Services Peshawar, a registered welfare organization. The camp was organized with the full cooperation and support of Mr. Hamdullah Jan (Director), Mr. Abdul Ghani (Principal), Mr. Muhammad Hamid (Vice Principal), Mr. Shah Saud Khan (Coordinator), and Shah Fahad.
On this occasion, Resource Mobilization Officers of Hamza Foundation, Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman and Mr. Ibrarullah Jan, along with Dr. Tariq Khan (Medical Director), delivered informative lectures to students and faculty members. They highlighted the welfare activities of Hamza Foundation, particularly the free-of-cost treatment being provided to 1,504 registered poor and underprivileged patients suffering from Thalassemia and Hemophilia. They also delivered motivational speeches emphasizing the critical importance of blood donation.
The speakers informed students that a single bag of donated blood can save three precious lives through its components—red blood cells (RBCs), platelets, and fresh frozen plasma (FFP). After medical screening conducted by Dr. Kashmala Shah, Medical Officer of Hamza Foundation, the 81 volunteer students donated blood for the treatment of 1,554 registered poor and underprivileged Thalassemia, Hemophilia children, and other blood disorder patients supported by the foundation.

It was further shared that in Pakistan, around 70 percent of collected blood is utilized for Thalassemia patients, while the remaining 30 percent is used for surgeries and other medical needs.
Founder Chairman of Hamza Foundation and Central Executive Member of Thalassemia Federation of Pakistan (TFP), Mr. Ijaz Ali Khan, highly appreciated the cooperation of the ICMS College management and the dedication and spirit of the student blood donors. On this occasion, appreciation certificates were distributed among the participating students by the Resource Mobilization Officers of Hamza Foundation.
Mr. Ijaz Ali Khan also expressed gratitude to the entire management of ICMS College Charsadda for arranging such a successful blood donation camp for the welfare of ailing humanity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman presented a Hamza Foundation shield to Mr. Hamdullah Jan, Director ICMS College Charsadda, in recognition of his support and cooperation.
