PESHAWAR: Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar has achieved several milestones under the dynamic leadership of the institute Vice Chancellor Prof
Dr. Usman Ghani (Gold Medalist).

A press release issued here on Friday stated that Prof. Dr. Usman Ghani is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and administrator with over 24 years of dedicated service at the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar.

Currently serving as the Vice Chancellor of IMSciences, he is widely recognized as a complete and impressive administrator whose visionary leadership has set IMSciences apart from other universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Dr. Ghani holds the unique distinction of being the only Vice Chancellor in KPK whose university operates without a budget deficit—a testament to his strong financial stewardship and forward-looking policies.

Under his leadership, student admissions have been steadily increasing year after year, making IMSciences one of the most sought-after institutions in the region.

He completed his Post-Doctorate in Management Science from the Gatton College of Business & Economics, University of Kentucky, USA, earned his Doctorate in Marketing from SZABIST, Islamabad, and holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration (Marketing specialization) from the University of Peshawar.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Ghani has successfully combined academic excellence with institutional development.

He has built strong linkages with national and international organizations, secured and managed multiple developmental projects, and positioned IMSciences as a forward-looking and financially sustainable model of higher education.

Among his landmark achievements, he led a World Bank–funded Capacity Building Program that trained over 1,600 faculty and staff members from Pakistan’s public and private HEIs—a contribution highly acclaimed across the higher education sector.

His influence extends beyond IMSciences as well. He is a respected member of Pakistan’s academic fraternity, actively serving on HEC’s national panels for Institutional Performance Evaluation and MS/PhD program reviews.

For his outstanding contributions to teaching, he received the HEC Best University Teacher Award in 2010.

A prolific researcher and thought leader, Dr. Ghani has published extensively in national and international journals and presented at leading global conferences.

He is also a trusted advisor in higher education governance, serving on the Boards of Governors, Academic Councils, Boards of Studies, and Selection Boards of several universities across Pakistan.
