Hong Kong: The AIPS ASIA Executive Committee met in Hong Kong under the chairmanship of President Hee Don Jung, where important organizational matters were discussed.
President Jung urged Asian sports journalists to adapt to modern trends, especially the rise of Artificial Intelligence, while staying true to journalistic values and ethics. He acknowledged that media professionals face significant challenges but emphasized the need to face them with determination and integrity.
“Journalists must innovate, but never at the cost of values,” he stated.
He reiterated that sports journalists play a vital role in the growth and promotion of sports, and should continue working with passion, positivity, and purpose.
During the session, Secretary Amjad Aziz Malik praised the performance of AIPS ASIA and highlighted the strong contributions of member countries over the past year. He noted that the AIPS ASIA magazine is well-received globally, and the revamped official website (aipsasia.media) reflects modern journalistic standards. Social media has also been effectively utilized to broaden reach and engagement.
The committee also emphasized the importance of stronger cooperation between sports bodies and media outlets to ensure impactful and transparent coverage of international sports.
The meeting concluded with a shared sense of optimism and unity in promoting professional, innovative, and ethical sports journalism across Asia.
