PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Hindkowan Movement celebrated Independence Day with a special event titled Guldasta Hindkowan Ittehad, bringing together social groups, cultural organizations, and community leaders dedicated to the preservation of Hindko language, culture, and heritage.

Speaking at the ceremony, founding chairman Dr. Saqaf Yasir Khan Advocate said the Hindkowan community was among the foremost in sacrificing “blood and votes” for the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized their historic role in strengthening the country’s foundations, lamenting that their contributions are often overlooked.

Provincial president Akbar Sethi described the Guldasta Hindkowan Ittehad as a united front of organizations working for the prosperity of the Hindkowan people. He underscored the cultural and linguistic significance of Hindko, spoken from Kashmir to Dera Ismail Khan, and called for unity to secure representation in governance and preserve their heritage.
