PESHAWAR : Chairman of the Secretariat Coordination Council, Zafar Khan Yousafzai, has termed the approval of House Rent Allowance (HRA) for Secretariat employees a historic achievement and extended his heartfelt congratulations to all officers, officials and employees of the Secretariat.
In a statement, he said that, by the grace of Allah Almighty, another long-standing and legitimate demand of Secretariat employees had been approved, which was a success achieved through the employees’ continued struggle and unity. The approval of HRA has brought a wave of happiness and satisfaction among Secretariat employees.
He said that over the past several years, continuous efforts for the rights and welfare of employees had resulted in the approval of several important demands. The increase in allowance from 30 percent to 50 percent, a special allowance of Rs. 3,500, 100 percent Secretariat Allowance, Utilities Allowance and now House Rent Allowance were significant achievements for the employees.
Zafar Khan Yousafzai said that the promotion of around 1,700 employees and the creation of nearly 700 new posts were also major developments, which helped address long-standing issues of employees and created new opportunities for career advancement.
He said all these achievements were the result of the grace of Allah Almighty, the unity of employees, the struggle of the Secretariat Coordination Council and the continued efforts of all sincere colleagues. These achievements did not belong to any single individual but were the fruit of the collective struggle of all Secretariat employees and their representatives.
The Chairman of the Secretariat Coordination Council expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the incumbent government, the Finance Minister, former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, former Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, former Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Secretary Establishment Zulfiqar and other concerned officers and officials.
He also paid tribute to all office-bearers, representatives and colleagues of the Secretariat Coordination Council, saying that they extended their full cooperation at every stage in the struggle for the legitimate demands of employees and demonstrated unity and solidarity.
Zafar Khan Yousafzai said that he was grateful to all officers and colleagues who supported him in pursuing the demands of Secretariat employees during his tenure as Chairman. Their cooperation and trust had always been a source of encouragement in the continued struggle for employees’ rights.
He said the approval of HRA was not the end of the struggle for employees’ rights but the beginning of a new phase. The Secretariat Coordination Council would continue to play its role in securing the legitimate rights of employees, improving their welfare, promoting their careers and resolving their problems.
He further said that by strengthening unity and mutual trust among employees, efforts would continue to address future challenges in an effective and positive manner. He prayed that Allah Almighty would create further ease for Secretariat employees and bless them with progress, prosperity and happiness.
