PESHAWAR: A Grand Jirga, chaired by the Inspector General of Frontier Corps KP (North), was held at the Dir Scouts Headquarters with the Malaks and elders of Lower Dir.

The Jirga discussed a comprehensive review of the current law and order situation in the area. The Jirga was attended by the Regional Police Officer of Malakand, the Deputy Commissioner, and the District Police Officer of Lower Dir, alongside local elders.

During the Jirga, the IGFC KP (North) Maj Gen Rao Imran Sartaj said that ensuring lasting peace and stability across the respective areas is a mutual responsibility. Special emphasis was placed on the Tehsil Lal Qilla, highlighting the critical need for enhanced cooperation with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and security forces.

The elders pledged their unconditional cooperation with the government, police, and security forces, explicitly consenting to cooperate in targeted operations in sensitive areas.

At the end, special prayers were offered for the lasting peace and prosperity of the area.
