KARACHI: The Crime Reporters Association Karachi organized a dignified Iftar and dinner gathering at a local hall, attended by Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho as the chief guest. The association’s President Sameer Qureshi, General Secretary Nadeem Ahmed, Joint Secretary Ubaid Shah, and other office-bearers warmly welcomed the guests.
The Special Guest of Honour was Syed Imtiaz-ul-Haq Bukhari, Chief Executive of BGC (Bukhari Group of Companies), while Director Moaz-ul-Haq Bukhari was also present. A large number of representatives from government and private institutions, media personnel, police officers, spokespersons, and distinguished individuals attended the event.
On the occasion, the Crime Reporters Association presented traditional and cultural gifts to the IG Sindh. Syed Imtiaz-ul-Haq Bukhari was awarded a commemorative shield by IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho and CRA President Sameer Qureshi. Shields were also presented to other police officers and spokespersons in recognition of their services.
Speaking at the event, Syed Imtiaz-ul-Haq Bukhari extended greetings on the blessed last ten days of Ramadan and stated that crime reporters play a vital role in highlighting corruption. He praised their courage and dedication, noting that they continue to perform their duties despite challenging circumstances, and assured full support to the association.
In his address, Javed Alam Odho congratulated participants on the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing that it promotes brotherhood, tolerance, and harmony. He highlighted that effective coordination between police and media is essential for crime prevention and public awareness, adding that the media has a key responsibility in strengthening the rule of law and promoting positive thinking in society.
The event was also attended by actor Saleem Afridi, Shahid Sattar (Sub-Registrar North Nazimabad Town), Aamir Mirani, and Saleem Shah Bukhari, along with other notable personalities.
