PESHAWAR: Following special directives from the Director FIA Peshawar Zone and under the supervision of Deputy Director FIA ACC Peshawar, a joint operation was conducted at a house/godown in Pahari Pura, Peshawar, where illegal activities involving misbranded and repacked surgical items were being carried out.

The operation was carried out by an FIA team led by SHO Talha Zaman, along with SI Zahoor Ali, SI Fahad Khan, ASI Ilyas, ASI Javed Afzal, FC Sabiullah, HC Asif Khan, Lady Constable Nazia Wazir, and FC Muhammad Khan, in coordination with Provincial Drug Inspectors headed by Senior Drug Inspector Safiullah and Inspector Irfan Wazir, with support from local police.

During the raid, a large quantity of allegedly misbranded, repacked, and “Not for Sale” surgical items was recovered, with an estimated value of PKR 2 million. The recovered items have been taken into possession by the Drug Inspectors.

Samples of the suspected items have been collected for laboratory testing and analysis. Further legal proceedings, including the registration of an FIR, will be initiated upon receipt of the report from the Drug Authority.

The FIA reaffirmed its commitment to curbing illegal practices and ensuring public health protection, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in unlawful activities.
