Bajaur : A key meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, Shahid Ali Khan, was held to review and improve the process of disbursing financial assistance to Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) affected during the Charmang operation. The meeting focused on making the payment system more efficient, transparent, and accessible.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shahid Rafiq Gandapur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Planning) Saeedullah Jan, and the PDMA Coordinator, along with other relevant officials.
During the session, it was emphasized that the disbursement of relief funds to affected families should not only be expedited but also simplified to ensure that beneficiaries face no difficulties. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to make the PDMA online portal fully functional and publicly accessible, enabling affected individuals to easily check their registration status, eligibility, and payment details.
Furthermore, it was decided that the payment process would be facilitated through retailer centers to make it more convenient, especially for people from remote areas, so they do not have to repeatedly visit government offices. Officials also agreed to strengthen monitoring mechanisms to ensure transparency and prevent any delays or irregularities.
Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan reiterated that the district administration considers the rehabilitation and financial support of affected families a top priority and that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated. He also instructed officials to establish an effective complaint redressal system to address public grievances promptly.
According to sources, these initiatives by the district administration are expected to significantly ease the difficulties of affected families and further strengthen public trust in the government’s relief efforts.
