PESHAWAR: The Inter-Madrasa Sports Festival 2026 was held at Tahmas Stadium under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports and Youth Affairs Department, bringing together students from various religious seminaries to participate in cricket and football competitions.
A total of 120 students from different madrasas of the Peshawar region took part in the festival, which aimed to promote healthy and positive activities among youth.
Project Director Arbab Faiz attended the event as chief guest, while Deputy Director Chingiz Khan, Director Establishment Naimatullah Marwat, Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, and Deputy Director Operations Kashif Farhan were also present.
In the cricket final, Jamia Al-Saeed Dir Colony Peshawar defeated Jamia Shah Waliullah Asia Gate by eight wickets to lift the championship trophy. Batting first, Jamia Shah Waliullah scored 105 runs. In reply, Jamia Al-Saeed successfully chased the target with the loss of only two wickets.
Qari Saeed played a match-winning innings of 62 runs and was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
At the closing ceremony, trophies and prizes were distributed among the winning teams and outstanding players. Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized the importance of sports in engaging youth in constructive and healthy activities.
They said the Sports Department is committed to providing equal sporting opportunities to all segments of society under its slogan, “Khel Har Ek Ka Haq”
