Karachi: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Azad Khan, visited the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) established at Brigade Police Station to review its operational performance and investigative procedures.
During the visit, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Scene Unit, and other senior officers were also present.
The DIG Investigation briefed the Police Chief on the unit’s overall performance, daily operations, evidence preservation protocols, and the scientific methods employed in crime scene examination. The briefing highlighted the importance of modern forensic techniques and systematic procedures in ensuring transparent and effective investigations.
AIG emphasized the critical importance of preserving evidence with utmost care and conducting crime scene examinations through scientific and professional standards. He said that effective evidence management plays a decisive role in strengthening criminal cases and securing convictions.
“Modern investigative systems are indispensable for conducting effective and result-oriented investigations,” AIG Azad Khan said, adding that further improvements would be made to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the Crime Scene Unit.
He also directed to continue adopting advanced forensic practices and maintain strict adherence to standard operating procedures to ensure credibility and professionalism in investigations.
