TANK: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Tank on Thursday with renewed commitment to support the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The central ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, followed by a solidarity rally from the DC Office to the Tank Press Club.
Deputy Commissioner Tank, Tanveer Khan Khattak, attended the event as the chief guest. A large number of local notables, government officials, students and citizens participated to express unity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
As a mark of solidarity, the participants observed a one-minute silence in remembrance of Kashmiri martyrs. The school students presented tableaus and speeches highlighting the plight, resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Khan Khattak paid rich tribute to the courage of Kashmiris. He said that no amount of oppression or fascism could suppress the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people. He added that the people of Pakistan stand firmly with Kashmiris and salute their continuous struggle for freedom.
District Police Officer Tank, Abdul Samad Khan, also addressed the participants and appreciated the unwavering determination of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and for the early freedom of the region.
