Youth unemployment is becoming a serious problem in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A large number of educated youth are suffering from inferiority complex, which is posing a threat to their mental health and future.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a large youth population, and they are being pushed towards despair due to lack of employment. The decrease in the number of jobs provided by the government and the lack of development of the private sector have further exacerbated this problem.

Many youth have become frustrated in the search for jobs after pursuing higher education. This inferiority complex is affecting their self-confidence, as a result of which they are also lagging behind in social life. Due to unemployment, mental stress, depression, and other psychological problems are increasing among the youth, which is negatively affecting their lives. Local youth say that they have earned degrees with great effort, but their skills and knowledge could not find a suitable platform in the country. According to a report, thousands of youth from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are moving to Gulf countries, Europe and Canada, where they get better employment, respect and a guaranteed future. When skilled youth leave the country, it not only causes a shortage of human resources but also affects the pace of development of the country.

The current government had promised to provide millions of jobs to the youth, but the ground realities are contrary to these claims. Recruitment in government institutions is limited, opportunities in the private sector are few and new jobs are not being created due to the economic crisis.

Youth are the capital of the country, but unfortunately, instead of managing this capital, we are ignoring it. Policymakers should not be satisfied with mere announcements but should provide decent employment to the youth through practical steps, so that they can not only turn their dreams into reality but also play an active role in the development of the country.

The government should take practical steps to create employment opportunities for the youth. In addition, it is necessary to promote the autonomy of the youth through improvements in the education system, skill training programs, and provision of business opportunities. If these steps are not taken in a timely manner, not only the future of the youth will be bleak but also the pace of the country’s development will be affected. Recognizing the power of the youth and meeting their needs is an important step for the development of Pakistan. The government needs to understand the seriousness of this problem and take immediate steps so that the youth can achieve success in their own country. If we do not provide opportunities to our youth according to their capabilities, we will lose a valuable human capital, which is indispensable for the development of the country.
A comprehensive strategy is needed for the well-being of youth, in which the government, the private sector, and educational institutions must work together. Without this, we will not be able to create a society where youth can utilize their talents and play their role in the development of the country.
