Peshawar : A representative delegation of the All Artists Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Provincial President Saeeda Khan, held an important introductory meeting with Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Shahid Khan Mohmand, at his office in Peshawar Saddar. Renowned actor, host, and director Sajjad Khalil was also present on the occasion.
At the outset of the meeting, Saeeda Khan, Sajjad Khalil, and other office-bearers congratulated Shahid Khan Mohmand on assuming the office of Director General. Flower petals were showered, garlands were presented, and a cake bearing the name of the All Artists Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was cut to mark the occasion.
In addition to Provincial President Saeeda Khan, the meeting was attended by Vice President Fazal Khaliq, Press Secretary Shakeel Ahmad, Joint Secretary Akbar Ali, Matiullah, Charsadda District President Kamran, Kohat District President Khalid Khan, Haroon Khan, and a large number of male and female office-bearers. All participants introduced themselves during the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Saeeda Khan highlighted the issues faced by the artistic community, including financial hardships and obstacles to cultural activities. She urged the authority to formulate a simple, transparent, and artist-friendly policy for organizing cultural events at Nishtar Hall so that artists can showcase their talents without unnecessary procedural hurdles.
Renowned actor, host, and director Sajjad Khalil said that artists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa possess immense talent and, if provided with proper opportunities and facilities, can bring great recognition to the province across the country.
Director General Shahid Khan Mohmand thanked the delegation and stated that artists are a valuable part of the province’s cultural heritage. He assured the delegation that resolving artists’ issues is a top priority for the authority and that an easy and effective policy for holding events at Nishtar Hall would be introduced.
Later, Saeeda Khan requested a separate detailed meeting to discuss the artists’ concerns and demands. Shahid Khan Mohmand accepted the request and assured the delegation that a formal session would be arranged soon.
