ISLAMABAD: Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accompanied by former Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad on Wednesday to offer condolences on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
During the visit, the Governor recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book and later met with the Iranian Ambassador, Reza Amiri Moqadam. He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and his companions and offered Fateha for the elevation of the ranks of other Iranian martyrs in the reported Israeli attack.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated that he had come to convey heartfelt sympathy and solidarity on behalf of himself and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the people of KP and the entire nation of Pakistan were deeply grieved over the martyrdom of the Iranian Supreme Leader, terming it a significant loss for the Muslim Ummah.
He further remarked that Iran is a brotherly Islamic country and that Pakistan stands with the Iranian people in their sorrows and joys alike. He paid tribute to the unity and resilience of the Iranian government and people in safeguarding their sovereignty and integrity.
Ambassador Reza Amiri Moqadam thanked the Governor for visiting the embassy and expressing solidarity. He appreciated the support and sympathy extended by the people of Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that the Muslim world is in profound grief over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and condemning the attack as a grave crime against the Islamic world.
