Peshawar: President Sarwekai Press Club Shabbir Jan Masood has accused the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of playing “dirty politics” over the Tirah issue, alleging deliberate delays and political manipulation at the cost of local residents.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Shabbir Jan Masood said that despite a unanimous decision by the elders of Tirah to temporarily relocate the population, the provincial government intentionally delayed the implementation of the decision out of malice and political considerations.
He alleged that the matter was deliberately postponed until the onset of winter to create a false narrative of victimhood, while simultaneously allowing the drug mafia sufficient time to harvest and sell their crops and prepare for the next cultivation cycle.
The Sarwekai Press Club president demanded an immediate and transparent explanation from the provincial authorities and called for decisive action to protect the interests, safety, and dignity of the people of Tirah, warning that continued negligence would further aggravate public mistrust.
