MALAM JABBA: Advisor to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Rind, has hailed the organization of a Girls Skiing and Snowboarding Camp in Malam Jabba for girls from the merged districts (formerly FATA) as a historic initiative.
Attending the three-day camp as chief guest, Taj Muhammad Rind said the program is not only a significant step toward the promotion of sports but also a major effort to empower girls. Thirty-four young and determined participants showcased their courage and enthusiasm on the snowy slopes.
“This initiative goes beyond sports. It expands opportunities for girls in the merged districts, introduces them to winter sports, and builds confidence and independence, even for those from conservative backgrounds,” he remarked. “This camp proves that when given the right opportunities, our girls can excel in any field.”

The Sports Advisor commended the cooperation of Malam Jabba Ski Resort—the only government-operated ski resort in Pakistan—and emphasized the province’s vast potential for winter sports due to its snow-capped mountains and natural resources. He assured that the government will continue to organize similar programs to engage youth, especially women, in sports.
Technical support for the camp was provided by the Summer Camp program under the supervision of Ms. Samar, the first professional female snowboarder from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and an international representative of Pakistan, who mentored the participants as coach and guide.
