PESHAWAR: An important ceremony was held in Peshawar on Tuesday for the signing of the agreement on the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) between the Local Government Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The ceremony was presided over by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Local Government, Arshad Ayub Khan. Also present on the occasion were Secretary Local Government Saqib Raza Aslam, Director General Local government Khyber pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan and Director General NADRA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khalid Khan.
Under the extension agreement, a mobile application of the Civil Registration Management System has been launched, which will assist citizens in the registration and acquisition of their basic information more easily. Minister for Local Government Arshad Ayub Khan termed this initiative as an important step toward national development and public welfare. He stated that the launch of the CRMS mobile application will not only make the registration process more transparent and efficient but will also provide citizens in rural and remote areas with easier access to their legal identity rights.
He further said that the collaboration between NADRA and the Local Government Department will play a key role in promoting digital governance in the province. At the end of the ceremony, all participants expressed satisfaction over this new chapter of mutual cooperation and regarded it as a significant milestone towards the provision of modern and integrated civic facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
