ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) actively participated in the Pakistan Tourism Sports and Family Festival 2026, a two-day event organized at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad under the auspices of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). The festival brought together tourism authorities from across Pakistan to promote domestic and international tourism, recreational activities, and cultural exchange.

Following the directions of Director General KPCTA Muhammad Usman Mehsud, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority set up a dedicated information desk, providing visitors with informative brochures, pamphlets, and 3D maps that highlighted the province’s scenic tourist destinations, historical landmarks, and cultural heritage sites. The KP delegation engaged with festival attendees, offering guidance on travel itineraries, accommodation options, and tourism services.

Officials from the KP Tourism Department and KP Tourism Authority also briefed domestic and foreign tourists on key initiatives, including ongoing tourism development projects, integrated tourism zones, and heritage preservation programs. Visitors were informed about the tourism police services, the 1422 tourism helpline, and various safety and assistance measures designed to enhance the visitor experience throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The participation of KPCTA aimed to showcase Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a prime tourist destination, highlighting its natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure tourism potential. The authority also emphasized its commitment to developing sustainable tourism infrastructure, improving visitor services, and promoting local communities through tourism-related initiatives.

The festival provided an ideal platform for interaction with travel enthusiasts, tour operators, and international delegates, strengthening the province’s visibility on the national tourism map. KPCTA’s engagement was widely appreciated by visitors, who expressed interest in exploring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s diverse attractions, ranging from mountain valleys, historic forts, religious shrines, and adventure sports hubs to cultural and heritage sites.

Muhammad Usman Mehsud, Director General KPCTA, stated that the participation in such national-level events reinforces the authority’s mission to promote sustainable tourism, facilitate tourist access, and attract both domestic and international travelers. He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is committed to positioning itself as a leading tourism destination in Pakistan while preserving its cultural and historical legacy.

The KPCTA team concluded the festival by encouraging visitors to plan tours across the province and take advantage of the tourism helpline 1422 and other services offered to ensure a safe and memorable travel experience in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
