PESHAWAR: The second policy meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue and Estate Department on Saturday approved a series of reforms aimed at improving transparency, digitising land records and strengthening public service delivery across the province.
The meeting was chaired by Provincial Minister for Revenue Tariq Mahmood Aryani and supervised by MNA Muhammad Atif Khan, head of the Revenue Department Working Group. It was attended by MNA Arbab Sher Ali, Senior Member Board of Revenue Zahir Shah Khan, MPA Muhammad Naeem Khan, digitalisation expert Khalid Saeed, Director Land Record Yasar Hassan and other senior officials.
Participants reviewed progress on earlier recommendations and directed authorities to expedite implementation of the new revenue policy.
The meeting decided that officials responsible for delays in land mutation, ownership record corrections and issuance of land ownership certificates (fard) would face disciplinary action. Separate counters for Khana Kasht cases will also be established at all Service Delivery Centres.
Among other key decisions, the meeting approved the launch of an outbound complaints call centre linked with the Revenue Dashboard, province-wide implementation of the e-Registry system, GIS mapping of government land, an encroachment alert system, and online issuance of land ownership certificates through NADRA e-Sahulat centres, the Revenue Dashboard and patwar offices.
The forum also approved the establishment of a Model Digital District on a pilot basis and directed early completion of the Computerised Land Record Management Integration System, which will enable fully digital land management and facilitate overseas Pakistanis in remotely selling their properties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Provincial Minister Tariq Mahmood Aryani directed Senior Member Board of Revenue Zahir Shah Khan to obtain reports from deputy commissioners on shortcomings at Service Delivery Centres, including shortages of staff, solar systems and other infrastructure.
MNA Muhammad Atif Khan appreciated the performance of the Board of Revenue team and reiterated the government’s commitment to the early implementation of the province’s revenue reforms.
