PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sports, organized a special rally on Kashmir Exploitation Day to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The rally was attended by Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider, Commandant Tourism Police Shah Nawaz Naveed, Director Culture and Tourism Muhammad Ali Syed, Director Sports Merged Districts Umar Arshad Khan, along with officials, staff, and athletes.

Participants carried Pakistan and Kashmir banners and chanted slogans in support of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Addressing the gathering, speakers said August 5, 2019, marked a significant development in the Kashmir dispute, referring to India’s decision to revoke the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir. They stated that Pakistan would continue extending political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people.

The speakers also expressed concern over the human rights situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and called on the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to play an effective role in supporting the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on the Kashmir issue. The rally concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s peace and stability, as well as for peace, freedom, and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
