PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), in collaboration with the Department of International Relations, University of Peshawar, has decided to organize an International Studies Conference from 8th to 11th July 2026 at the Bara Gali Campus of the University of Peshawar in Galiyat.
In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held at the office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. Director General KP Culture and Tourism Authority, Shahid Khan Mohmand, and Chairman, Department of International Relations, University of Peshawar, Dr. Syed Sami Raza, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
The conference theme focuses on geopolitical dynamics, economic opportunities, regional politics and diplomacy, and strategies to address environmental challenges in Pakistan and beyond. The conference aims to promote academic research while enhancing awareness, understanding, and collaboration on environmental issues. It seeks to support sustainable tourism, preserve cultural heritage, and promote Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a peaceful destination for eco-tourism.
In addition, a Summer School Camp will be organized from 8th to 19th July 2026. Under the MoU, field visits to Mushkpuri Top and other tourist attractions in Galiyat will be arranged, featuring tourism-related research activities and other academic engagements.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority will support the conference by facilitating cultural showcases, including handicraft stalls, traditional music performances by local artists, and other cultural activities.
Furthermore, to facilitate field research and academic studies, the Authority will provide administrative support, local and regional data, and logistical guidance in the Galiyat Zone for 35 elite research officers conducting field-based environmental assessments and research activities.
