PESHAWAR – On the directive of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Suhail Afridi, the province is set to plant 1 million trees in a single day on Pakistan Day (23 March), coinciding with Eid celebrations.

Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah urged citizens to plant their own trees and share photos/videos at ehsaaseshajar.kp.gov.pk.

The campaign demonstrates KP’s commitment to climate action even amid challenging conditions. The government plans to continue such initiatives and aims for 14 million trees on 14 August.
Forest Department spokespersons confirmed:
Tree delivery to all districts is complete.
The drive starts at 9 AM and continues until the last tree is planted.
A central control center with live monitoring and mobile updates will track progress.
Government offices, schools, communities, civil society, and law enforcement personnel are participating.
