Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Procurement Authority (KPPRA), in collaboration with the World Bank-funded KP-SPEED project, organized a two-day training workshop at Hazara University, Mansehra. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of the newly launched Electronic Procurement and Documentation System (e-PADS) software and the KPPRA procurement rules and regulations among government officers from Battagram and Torghar districts.

Participants included officials from key departments such as Communication and Works (C&W), Irrigation, Local Government, Health, Higher Education, Public Health Engineering (PHED), Livestock, Elementary and Secondary Education, Food, Fisheries, and Sports.

During the opening session, Deputy Director Shahid Hussain outlined the objectives of the workshop. He emphasized that the initiative was designed to strengthen institutional capacity, ensure compliance with procurement laws, and introduce participants to the operational use of the e-PADS software. He noted that the software is expected to bring greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability to public procurement processes across the province.

He added that KPPRA remains committed to continuous improvement and will undertake further measures to enhance procurement systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Participants welcomed the training initiative, stating that the use of e-PADS would streamline procurement procedures and significantly improve transparency in public sector purchasing. They expressed appreciation to KPPRA for organizing the workshop and recommended that such capacity-building sessions be conducted on a regular basis.

At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees.
