JAMRUD: Kuki Khel elders, including Haji Manan, Barkat, and Haji Wilayat, held a press conference at Jamrud Press Club, stating that PDA officials, along with several individuals, attempted to forcibly occupy a portion of the disputed Regi Lamha land. The elders reached the scene in time and prevented the occupation.
They stated that the land was demarcated in 1912 by government officials and Kuki Khel elders, known as the Meeph Griffith demarcation. However, government officials have repeatedly violated the demarcation, and the matter is currently pending in court.
The elders urged residents of Peshawar and other areas to refrain from occupying the land until the issue is resolved. They assured that once the matter is settled, those with legitimate claims will be identified and given their rights.
They appreciated Commissioner Peshawar’s efforts to resolve the dispute and urged him to prevent PDA and other government officials from taking unlawful actions, which could lead to an unfortunate incident.
