PESHAWAR:Yasir Saeed, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST), has successfully completed his PhD in Economics. He has been associated with KUST for the past sixteen years, contributing extensively to both teaching and research. He has also served as a member of the University Syndicate and is currently fulfilling additional responsibilities as a Data Analyst at the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), KUST.
The title of his doctoral dissertation was “Trade-off Theory versus Pecking Order Theory: Capital Structure Decisions in Pakistan’s Textile Sector”, which he completed under the supervision of Dr. Alam Khan and Dr. Ehtesham-ul-Haq from the Department of Economics at KUST.
His thesis was evaluated by a high-level examination committee comprising Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jameel (Dean, Faculty of Biological Sciences – Convener), Dr. Zahoor Khan from the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) Peshawar, Dr. Muhammad Tariq from Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, and Prof. Dr. Dilawar Khan (Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, KUST).
The thesis defense ceremony was attended by key academic and administrative figures of the university, including Dr. Ijaz Ahmad (Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences), Dr. Shaukat Shuja (Chief Proctor), Dr. Zeeshan Bangash (Director, QEC), Prof. Dr. Dilawar Khan, and Public Relations Officer Mr. Rashid Ishaq.
During the ceremony, Dr. Zeeshan Bangash presented a commemorative gift to Dr. Yasir Saeed on behalf of the QEC, acknowledging his academic excellence, professional contributions, and long-standing association with the university.
On this occasion, KUST Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas congratulated Dr. Yasir Saeed on the successful completion of his PhD. He remarked that this achievement is not only a significant milestone in Dr. Saeed’s academic and research career but also a valuable addition to practical research in financial decision-making within Pakistan’s textile sector.
