To ensure the provision of public services and safeguard the legal and guaranteed rights of workers, Area Inspector Labor Zakria Khalid of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Labor Department visited various commercial centers and business premises on University Road on the third day of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the visit, several well-known brands and retail outlets, including Borjan, Clive, Urban Sole, Bata, Servis, Mochiani, Beach Tree and others, were inspected. The inspection revealed that some businesses had failed to fully comply with the government-declared Eid holidays and labor laws relating to workers and employees.
Area Inspector Labor Zakria Khalid initiated legal action against the violating retail outlets under Section 17, issuing challans and notices. He emphasized that providing workers and employees with prescribed festival holidays and other legal rights is the responsibility of every employer and that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
Zakria Khalid stated that the Labor Department would continue its monitoring efforts to protect workers’ rights and ensure the implementation of labor laws. He urged business owners and managements to strictly comply with labor regulations so that workers’ rights remain protected and they receive all facilities and benefits guaranteed under the law.
He further said that, in accordance with the directives of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, measures for the protection, welfare and well-being of workers would continue without discrimination, and legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the law.
