HARIPUR: Fasting is not merely about enduring hunger and thirst; rather, it is a profound means of cultivating patience, piety, tolerance, and good character. The last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan hold special spiritual significance, as they include the blessed night of Laylat al-Qadr, which is described as better than a thousand months. I’tikaf provides a unique opportunity for believers to detach from worldly engagements and devote themselves to the remembrance of Allah, worship, and spiritual self-reformation.
These views were expressed by Sahibzada Syed Hassan Fatah while addressing the Friday congregation.
According to details, a large public gathering was held after the Friday prayers at Central Jamia Masjid Khanqah Mehboobabad Sharif, where Sahibzada Hassan Fatah Mahmood delivered a comprehensive speech highlighting the virtues, blessings, and spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan as well as the importance of I’tikaf. A large number of devotees, disciples, and local residents attended the gathering.
During his address, he stated that the holy month of Ramadan is filled with countless mercies, blessings, and forgiveness from Allah Almighty. In this sacred month, the reward for acts of worship is multiplied many times, and believers are given opportunities to repent for their sins and turn towards righteousness.
He further explained that fasting is not only about abstaining from food and drink but also serves as a powerful training for patience, piety, endurance, and moral discipline.
Highlighting the importance of the last ten days of Ramadan, he said these days carry extraordinary spiritual significance because they include Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power. Speaking about the virtues of I’tikaf, he said it allows a believer to withdraw from worldly distractions and dedicate themselves to the remembrance of Allah, worship, and spiritual purification.
On the occasion, Sahibzada Hassan Fatah Mahmood also invited the general public and his followers to observe I’tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan at Central Jamia Masjid Khanqah Mehboobabad Sharif and encouraged them to increase their acts of worship, remembrance of Allah, and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
