PESHAWAR: A special group photo was held today at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where Corps Commander Peshawar, Lieutenant General Umar Ahmed Bukhari, warmly received and felicitated the Chitral Polo Team for their remarkable victory at the Shandur Polo Festival 2025.

The Chitral team, known for its skillful horsemanship and unwavering team spirit, secured a hard-fought win at the world’s highest polo ground, earning praise from across the country. Lieutenant General Umar Ahmed Bukhari commended the players for their dedication, discipline, and outstanding representation of the region and the nation.

“The Shandur Polo Festival is not only a celebration of sport but a symbol of our cultural heritage and national unity,” said the Corps Commander. “Chitral’s victory reflects the strength and talent of our youth in remote areas.”

The event was attended by senior military officials and members of the civil society, as well as sports enthusiasts who celebrated the team’s success. The Corps Commander also assured continued support for youth and sports development in the region.

The group photo symbolizes the recognition of local talent and the strengthening of civil-military harmony through encouragement of traditional and national sports.
