Karachi: The Keamari District Police have intensified their indiscriminate and effective operations against criminal elements, resulting in a significant decline in organized crime across the district. Since the appointment of SSP Keamari Amjad Ahmed Sheikh, decisive measures have been taken against hardened criminals, leading to major operational successes. According to police officials, 14 highly dangerous and wanted criminals have been killed in police encounters over the past two months, while dozens were injured and hundreds of suspects were arrested during targeted and intelligence-based operations.
In the latest development, Pak Colony Police carried out a successful operation in the Old Golimar area, where a wanted and dangerous terrorist Anwar alias Kojak was killed during a shootout with police. The deceased was a key operative of Lyari Gang leader Jamil Chhanga, who is currently operating from abroad. These included charges related to extortion, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, drug trafficking, murder, attempted murder, firing at police personnel and anti-terrorism laws.
