PESHAWAR: Malik Sports Cricket Club clinched the title in the Zone Four final of the Peshawar District Cricket Championship, edging past PTI Club in a nail-biting finish to win by two wickets. The tournament was organized by the Peshawar District Cricket Association.
Batting first, PTI Club posted a competitive total of 246 runs in their allotted overs. Fazal Haq led the charge with a solid 63 runs, while Salman contributed 50 runs. Malik Sports’ bowling attack was spearheaded by Fawad, Hamad, and Saad, each claiming three wickets to keep PTI in check.
In response, Malik Sports chased down the target in dramatic fashion, securing victory on the final ball of the match. Humayun Hamaduddin played a crucial knock, scoring 53 runs, followed closely by Humayun with 52 runs and Shahzeb adding 37 runs. For PTI Club, Sharafat picked up three wickets, while Taeeb and Usman grabbed two wickets each.
Humayun Hamaduddin was deservedly named Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
The final match was graced by the presence of Test cricketer Sajid Khan as the chief guest. Also in attendance were prominent figures including Malik Farman, Asghar Khan, and other notable personalities from the local cricketing community.
