PESHAWAR : Chairman of the Pakistan Directors Producers Writers and Artists Association (Registered), Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai, along with Central Finance Secretary Manzoor Khan and Media Secretary Amjad Hadi Yousafzai, participated in the launching ceremony of renowned columnist and fiction writer Mariam Khan’s first collection of short stories, “Raakh Se Uthi Aurat” (The Woman Who Rose from Ashes).
A prestigious literary event was organized by the Writers Guild and Abaseen Arts Council at the Khwaja Ghulam Ghani Auditorium of Nishtar Hall Peshawar, where Mariam Khan’s first fiction collection “Raakh Se Uthi Aurat” was formally launched. The event was presided over by Pride of Performance award-winning renowned poetess Bushra Farah, while Professor Aseer Mangal, Dr. Abaseen Yousafzai, and Dr. Ejaz Khattak were the chief guests.
A large number of writers, poets, intellectuals, artists, and representatives of various literary and cultural organizations attended the ceremony. Representing the Pakistan Directors Producers Writers and Artists Association (Registered), Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai attended the event along with his delegation and expressed his best wishes for Mariam Khan’s first literary publication.
On the occasion, Mariam Khan presented her book “Raakh Se Uthi Aurat” as a gift to Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai, Manzoor Khan, and Amjad Hadi Yousafzai.
Speaking at the event, Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai said that quality literature plays a fundamental role in the intellectual, cultural, and social development of society. He emphasized that encouraging new creative voices is the need of the hour and promoting literary activities is essential for building a conscious society. He expressed hope that Mariam Khan’s fiction collection would receive wide appreciation from readers and become a valuable addition to Urdu literature.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants congratulated Mariam Khan on her first literary work and expressed hope that she would continue to enrich Urdu literature through meaningful and thought-provoking creations in the future.
