Bajaur — According to District Health Officer Dr. Gohar Ayub, a measles case has been reported at the IDPs camp established in Government Degree College, Khar. The patient was immediately isolated, while health department teams examined children, screened nearby students and staff, and initiated surveillance activities to prevent further spread of the disease.
The DHO added that a vaccination camp was also set up in the college hall, where children who had not completed their immunization (default cases) were administered vaccines. Refugee and TDP children in the camp were also vaccinated to contain the outbreak.
The Bajaur Health Department has appealed to parents to immediately visit the nearest health center if any child shows symptoms of fever or measles rash.
