MARDAN: In response to the devastating floods in Buner district, the Mardan Health Department has swiftly dispatched a 28-member medical team to provide essential healthcare services, following directives from the provincial government.
According to Dr. Rubina Riaz, Public Health Coordinator at the DHO office, the team comprises three vehicles and includes eight doctors, among them three female doctors, to ensure timely medical assistance to women affected by the disaster.
Dr. Rubina stated that under special instructions from the Advisor on Health, Secretary Health, and Director General Health, the team is equipped with ample supplies of essential medicines and medical equipment. The team includes specialists such as gynecologists, pediatricians, and general physicians.
She added that under the supervision of the DHO Mardan Shuaib Khan, public health initiatives will also be undertaken in the flood-affected areas, including awareness campaigns about preventive measures. If needed, additional doctors and medicines will be dispatched to the region.
The Mardan Health Department is making every effort to ensure timely medical relief reaches the flood-hit population to prevent the spread of diseases.
