PESHAWAR: Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak (KKKUK) held its 13th Senate Meeting today at the Higher Education Department in Peshawar, chaired by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi.

The main focus of the meeting was reviewing and approving the university’s financial plans. The Senate approved the final budget for 2024–25, the updated budget for 2025–26, and the upcoming budget for 2026–27.

During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily shared updates on the university’s growth over the last ten years. He highlighted major accomplishments, including the creation of a new Psychology lab, the Seerat-un-Nabi Chair, and endowment funds set up to secure the university’s financial future.

University Treasurer Hafiz Ismail Khan presented the budget details, noting that the university completed independent third-party audits to guarantee financial transparency. The Senate members praised the management’s efforts and officially approved the budget proposals.

Minister Meena Khan Afridi commended KKKUK for maintaining financial stability and encouraged a stronger focus on research. In turn, Vice Chancellor Khalily thanked the Minister and provincial leadership for their continued support in solving university challenges.

The meeting was attended by key university leadership, government representatives from the Finance, Higher Education, and Establishment departments, Higher Education Commission (HEC) nominees, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khursheed Khattak. Administrative support was provided by the university’s finance and establishment teams.
