Province Report

PESHAWAR:
A high-level meeting on the wheat crisis was held under the chairmanship of Leader of the Opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Dr. Ibadullah Khan, and Federal Minister for National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain. The meeting focused on wheat supply in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the shortage of flour, and issues related to inter-provincial transportation. Representatives of the Punjab government participated in the meeting via Zoom.
During the meeting, Dr. Ibadullah Khan strongly presented the case of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the federal government, stating that restrictions on wheat supply and the ongoing flour shortage have caused severe difficulties for the public. He urged the federal government to take immediate steps to address the crisis and provide relief to the people.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain assured participants that, in line with the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, efforts are being made to resolve the wheat crisis soon and restore wheat supply to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without delay.
Dr. Ibadullah Khan also stated that, even while in opposition, he will continue to raise his voice at every forum for public rights and relief. He remarked that it is unfortunate that those who once criticized the federal government and Punjab for public issues are now allegedly focused on political activities instead of addressing public concerns.
He further said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is allegedly using government resources for political activities instead of public relief, while elected representatives should focus on solving public problems and providing relief to the people.
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Ibadullah Khan reiterated his commitment to working for the stability, development, and prosperity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that continuous efforts at all levels are necessary to steer the province out of crises.
