BAJAUR: under the Access to Justice Development Fund (AJDF) programme launched by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Yahya Afridi, and the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Mr. Muhammad Riaz, the District and Sessions Judge Bajaur formally inaugurated a state-of-the-art e-library at the Bajaur Bar Association.
The initiative aims to strengthen modern legal research, digital facilities, and the use of technology within bar associations and judicial institutions. The establishment of the e-library at Bajaur Bar represents an important milestone in this broader vision of improving access to justice through digital transformation.
Under the project, the Bajaur Bar Association has been equipped with modern computers, printers, scanners, LED screens, stationery, and water dispensers, providing lawyers, litigants, and students with a comfortable and technologically advanced environment for research and study. The e-library will enable instant access to online legal databases, journals, court judgments, and contemporary legal material, significantly enhancing the quality, speed, and effectiveness of legal services.
On the occasion, the cabinet of the Bajaur Bar Association expressed special appreciation to Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Yahya Afridi for launching the AJDF programme, stating that it has played a vital role in promoting research and digital facilities in bar associations. The cabinet also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Mr. Imran Ullah, Focal Person to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for AJDF, whose continuous supervision and hard work made the project possible.
Gratitude was also extended to Mr. Muhammad Riaz, District and Sessions Judge, for his personal interest, guidance, and full cooperation, not only in providing the required facilities but also in ensuring the successful inauguration of the e-library. The cabinet further thanked Senior Civil Judge Bajaur Mr. Shakeel Arshad and other respected judges present at the ceremony for encouraging this important initiative.
The Bajaur Bar Association expressed confidence that the e-library will open new avenues for research, digital access, and academic development, and will serve as a strong foundation for a modern, effective, and sustainable research environment for the legal community.
