PESHAWAR: Emerging squash player Muhammad Ammad of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delivered an impressive performance in the Sohail Qaiser Racket Sports Trust Pakistan PSA Satellite Squash Tournament, finishing as the runner-up. The tournament was held from June 20 to 23, 2026, at the PAF Mujahid Anwar Khan Squash Academy, Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi.
Muhammad Ammad started his campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over fellow Khyber Pakhtunkhwa player Yahya in the opening round. In the second round, he comfortably defeated Hikmat Yar by 3-0 to advance further in the tournament.
Continuing his excellent form, Ammad outclassed Haris Zahid 3-0 in the quarterfinals. He then secured another dominant 3-0 win against Saddam Hussain in the semifinals to book his place in the final.
In the championship match, Ammad faced Abdullah Nawaz. Despite a determined effort, he lost 3-1 and finished the tournament as the runner-up, earning praise for his outstanding performance throughout the event.
Muhammad Ammad’s achievement was warmly appreciated by his parents, coach Tahir Iqbal, the Pakistan Squash Federation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association, the Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Provincial Sports Minister, all of whom congratulated him and wished him success in future competitions.
Ammad credited his success to the support of his coach, parents, and sports organizations, and expressed his determination to continue working hard to bring further honors to Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the national and international levels.
It is worth mentioning that Muhammad Ammad is scheduled to participate in a US$3,000 PSA Squash Tournament in Islamabad next month, where he is expected to continue his impressive run of performances.
