RAWALPINDI: The Armed Forces of Pakistan on Saturday solemnly commemorated the 68th martyrdom anniversary of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, paying tribute to his extraordinary bravery, unwavering devotion to duty and supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, honoured the national hero for his exceptional courage during combat.

Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed displayed remarkable gallantry by leading his troops in a daring assault despite sustaining critical injuries. His steadfast determination ensured the successful completion of the mission, earning him the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honour.

The Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan also paid tribute to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s defence, stating that their legacy of courage, patriotism and selfless service continues to inspire future generations.
