Green Shirts Defeat China in Straight Sets

NAGOYA, JAPAN : Pakistan secured the bronze medal in the men’s volleyball competition at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after defeating China 3-0 in the third-place playoff.
Pakistan dominated the match with an impressive display of attacking strength, disciplined defence and composure to secure a convincing straight-sets victory.
The national team won the opening set 25-18, establishing early control over the contest. Pakistan maintained their momentum in the second set, producing powerful attacks and effective rallies to register a 25-16 victory.
The Green Shirts continued their strong performance in the third set, overcoming China 25-18 to complete a 3-0 win and secure the bronze medal.
Pakistan’s medal-winning performance followed an impressive knockout-stage campaign. The national side defeated arch-rivals India 3-0 in the quarter-final, winning the sets 25-19, 25-23 and 25-18.
However, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 defeat against defending champions Iran in the semi-final before bouncing back against China in the bronze-medal match.
The victory marked a significant achievement for Pakistan volleyball, as the national team finished third in the men’s competition at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
