PESHAWAR:The Women’s Lacrosse Camp held in Haripur under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association concluded with an exciting final match where the Panthers triumphed over the Eagles with a 14–10 scoreline, securing the tournament trophy.
The closing ceremony was graced by Syed Salar Jahan, President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lacrosse Association, as chief guest. Other notable attendees included Engineer Teyfur Zarin of the Pakistan Lacrosse Federation, Cons Miss Rehana Karim, international lacrosse gold medalist Miss Muqaddas Tariq, and advisor Miss Momina Tariq.
In his remarks, Salar Jahan called the event a “milestone for the development of lacrosse in the Hazara region,” applauding the efforts of the Hazara Lacrosse Association. He emphasized the importance of introducing the sport in every district and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to providing free equipment and training to aspiring athletes across Pakistan.
“This is Pakistan’s first sport where all gear and training are provided at no cost to the players,” he noted. “We are determined to take Pakistan’s lacrosse team to the Olympics.”
Engineer Teyfur Zarin also commended the event organizers and volunteers, stating that the lacrosse movement, under the leadership of Salar Jahan, is gaining momentum and aims to empower youth and expand the sport’s reach across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
