DERA ISMAIL KHAN: On the directives of Hizbullah Mehsud and under the supervision of the Chief Executive of PESCO, a comprehensive combing operation is being carried out under the leadership of Imranullah Gandapur, Muhammad Ali Khan, Samiallah Marwat, and Line Superintendent Asif Bhutta.
According to details, the operation has been ongoing for the past one month at City-II Sub-Division, Mariyali One Feeder, with the support of the PESCO headquarters monitoring team from Peshawar.
During the campaign, letters were sent to Police Station Cantt against 50 electricity theft suspects, out of which cases have been registered against five individuals, while action on the remaining cases is in progress and further FIRs will be lodged soon.
The PESCO combing team is conducting operations in areas including Tariqabad, Gillani Town, Madni Town, Basti Nadar Ali Shah, and Basti Astrana North, targeting electricity theft and illegal connections.
Authorities stated that 3,200 electricity meters are being shifted to electric poles, and the remaining meters will also be transferred within a week to improve monitoring and prevent tampering.
To curb repeated electricity theft through illegal connections on the main LT lines, insulated cable wiring has also been installed in areas such as Tariqabad, Gillani Town, and Madni Town.
Officials reaffirmed that the crackdown against power theft will continue without discrimination to ensure transparency, system improvement, and uninterrupted service to consumers.
