PESHAWAR : The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) has entered into an agreement with Medway International to provide its members access to online medical consultations with leading doctors and specialists from Pakistan and abroad.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between PHCBA President Ameen-ur-Rehman Yousafzai Advocate and Medway International Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Amir Mir at a ceremony held at the Peshawar High Court.

Under the agreement, members of the PHCBA will be able to seek medical advice through online consultations from renowned physicians and specialists based in Pakistan, the United States, Europe, India and other countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amir Mir said Medway International would facilitate lawyers in connecting with leading medical specialists worldwide, enabling them to obtain expert medical advice without the need to travel abroad.

He said patients would only have to pay the consultation fee charged by the concerned doctor, while Medway International would not impose any additional service charges.

PHCBA President Ameen-ur-Rehman Yousafzai welcomed Dr Amir Mir to the Peshawar High Court and appreciated the initiative, saying the agreement would give lawyers an opportunity to consult doctors of their choice from different parts of the world.

He said lawyers had demanding professional schedules and often found it difficult to travel for medical consultations. In such circumstances, he added, online access to specialists could prove particularly useful.

“The world has become a global village, and technology has made it possible to connect with people anywhere in the world from the comfort of our homes,” the Bar president said.

He expressed hope that the facility would help lawyers obtain timely medical advice from renowned specialists while enabling them to access quality healthcare without disrupting their professional commitments.

The agreement is expected to strengthen access to specialised healthcare for members of the legal fraternity and provide them with a convenient alternative to travelling long distances for expert medical consultations.
