HARIPUR: Naqeeb-ul-Ashraf and Sajjada Nashin of Khanqah Mehboobabad Sharif, Haveliian, Pir Syed Mohiuddin Mehboob said a common Islamic currency could become the foundation of economic sovereignty for the Muslim world if backed by strong economies and long-term planning. He stressed the need for fiscal discipline, stronger domestic economies, an Islamic Monetary Fund, and greater economic cooperation among Muslim countries to reduce dependence on interest-based borrowing and promote sustainable economic integration.
