Says KP Government in Crisis as 27 MPAs Ready to Back Opposition in No-Confidence Move

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Additional Secretary Information, Arbab Khizer Hayat, has strongly condemned the recent statements by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, terming them as a direct challenge to the state. He said such threats particularly regarding the release of Imran Khan within 90 days do not suit the stature or responsibility of a provincial chief executive.
“These are not the words of a leader but of someone trying to create chaos. The CM’s threats amount to inciting unrest and undermine the rule of law,” said Arbab Khizer Hayat during a media interaction.
He claimed that the PTI-led provincial government is on the brink of collapse, alleging that a significant number of MPAs have already distanced themselves from the Chief Minister.
“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is breathing its last. The truth will be exposed in the upcoming Senate elections,” he stated, adding that 27 MPAs are currently in contact with the opposition and are ready to support any no-confidence motion.
According to Hayat, Chief Minister Gandapur is making inflammatory statements in an attempt to portray himself as a political martyr, knowing well that his government’s days are numbered.
He also alleged massive corruption within the province, accusing the government of selling administrative positions ranging from clerks and SHOs to secretaries.
“The level of corruption in KP today is unprecedented. If this government remains in power any longer, the entire province will be sold on Olex,” he warned, referencing the popular online marketplace in a scathing metaphor.
Arbab Khizer Hayat concluded by saying the opposition will not allow further damage to the province and that change in the provincial setup is now inevitable.
