PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society has launched a Ramadan Relief Package in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent for affected families of Tirah District Khyber, reaching the most vulnerable communities with essential food and hygiene support.

Under this three day initiative, a total of 1,900 families benefited. The relief package included flour, pulses, sugar, ghee and other essential food items, along with hygiene kits. In the first phase, more than 1900 affected families received assistance during the distribution. The food packages and hygiene kits are being provided with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent.

In addition to food assistance, free medical camps have been established in collaboration with the Norwegian Red Cross. Patients attending the camps are being provided free consultations and medicines to address immediate health needs.

A simple yet dignified ceremony was held in Achini, Peshawar, to mark the distribution. The event was attended by Secretary General PRCS Mr. Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Provincial Secretary Mr. Abid ur Rehman Marwat, Chairman Merged Districts Mr. Imran Wazir, Turkish Red Crescent Program Manager Mr. Serkan Aba, Mr. Ibrahim and other officials.

In her message, Chairperson PRCS Mrs. Farzhana Naek stated that extending support to affected families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, is a key responsibility of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. She termed the partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent as a meaningful example of humanitarian solidarity and reaffirmed PRCS commitment to meeting the essential needs of communities facing hardship.

Secretary General Mr. Muhammad Abaidullah Khan expressed sincere appreciation to the Turkish Red Crescent for its continued support to tribal communities during challenging times. He said the bond of brotherhood and mutual respect between the people of Türkiye and Pakistan remains strong and will continue to grow. He also shared that PRCS has been carrying out relief activities in the area since February this year and looks forward to further cooperation in the future.

Mr. Serkan Aba appreciated the arrangements made by PRCS and reaffirmed that the Turkish Red Crescent will continue to stand with the people of Pakistan in times of need.

Representatives of the Turkish Red Crescent also reviewed the beneficiary registration process and personally participated in the distribution of relief items among the affected families.
The Chairmans of PRCS KP Branch and merged areas Farzand Ali Wazir and Imran Wazir thanked the National Head Quarter and Turkish Red Crescent for extending support. They vowed not to any stone unturn to assist the needy people of the province.
