PESHAWAR: A meeting was held between the Industrialists Association Peshawar (IAP) and police high-ups here the other day at the IAP office. The meeting was chaired by President IAP Ayub Khan Zakori, while the police department was represented by SP Cantt Abdullah Ehsan, SDPO Hayatabad Muhammad Junaid, and DSP Traffic Khyber Muhammad Nawaz.
Apart from them, Senior Vice President IAP Haris Mufti, Vice President Farhad Asfandiyar, Ex-President Malik Niaz Ahmed, Ex-President Zarak Khan Khattak, Executive Member Sajjad Zaheer, and members Dr Bilal Zeb, Ismail Mohmand, Muhammad Saeed, and Mohsin Saeed also attended the meeting.
Similarly, President, Transport Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Iltaf Gul, Senior Vice President Ejaz Hussain, Vice President Sultan Zada, and General Secretary Tariq Khan participated on the occasion as well.
Matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting, with a focus on traffic management and security arrangements in Hayatabad Industrial Estate. It was decided that 24/7 movement of heavy industrial vehicles on Takhta Baig Detour Road would be regulated by addressing illegal parking and encroachments on the main road (Karkhano side).
Similarly, action against illegal token/toll tax collection on Karkhano Road would be taken and measures would be adopted to reduce traffic congestion on Karkhano side, as well as increasing the no of traffic wardens at both entry and exit points of the Industrial Estate would be ensured.
It was also asked to deploy additional police constables at Industrial Estate Police Chowki and establish a dedicated police station in the area to improve security and response time.
The President IAP also requested the SP Cantt to install a CCTV surveillance system under the Safe City Project in the Industrial Estate, similar to other areas of Peshawar.
